Lawsuit alleges non secular discrimination and retaliation for expressing deeply held non secular beliefs
A vulnerable longtime security guard at Disneyland filed a lawsuit in Orange County Superior Court of California accusing Disneyland of wrongful termination, non secular discrimination and harassment, whistleblower retaliation, and failure to assessment, clear up, and prevent discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Plaintiff Candance McGee labored for better than 20 years as a security guard at Disneyland.McGee is a Christian who holds proper non secular beliefs in protecting alongside with her Christian faith. McGee’s lawsuit asserts she used to be many instances warned against speaking about her beliefs, even supposing she never violated Disney’s employee insurance policies, and in a roundabout plan used to be fired on fable of comments she made on Disney’s Yammer internal social media platform. In accordance alongside with her rights, McGee asserts, she with courtesy responded to what she realizing to be misrepresentations of the Bible posted by other workers on Yammer. This resulted in Disneyland subjecting McGee to intense investigations about her non secular beliefs, which she asserts had been discriminatory and harassing.
McGee further asserts within the lawsuit she complained about opposed and harassing Yammer posts directed at her and her faith that made her feel unsafe, that Disney refused to assessment, as one more deciding on to fireside McGee.
