   I’ve purchased a couple different shemaghs from Amazon, looking for something high quality and authentic. Most of the stuff you find is either tactical grade (meaning cheap materials, but usable) or fashion (meaning smaller and lightweight).This is neither. For one, this is actually from Syria! It comes in original packaging with all stickers attached. And the quality is far superior to any other shemagh I’ve found in the US. For one, the pattern is embroidered and not screen printed. The cotton is soft and tightly woven — no loosely stitched threads here like the Rothco or Proforce that come up first on the search list. Large, far larger than the typical shemagh. Coming in at 49×49, its easy to wrap as a scarf or to cover the face. And unlike the ornamental tassels on other models, these are actually sturdy and built right into the weave.If you’re willing to dish out a little extra for top quality and authenticity, this is the best product on Amazon. I was planning on picking up the Palestinian pattern variant, but then got caught by the inverted colors design the seller is offering. Unfortunately that one is made in India, and from experience with prior purchases of Indian-made shemaghs, I am staying away until the seller puts up larger resolution photos of the stiching.

   I purchase this Black Arab Shemagh Head Scarf Neck Wrap Authentic. I ordered for my self even if I’m not Arab. I’m not an any expert how to measure quality of the product. But I have Arabs friends and they told me that is excellent quality. I lie too, look very good, soft cotton is nice. 2 week’s later I ordered Hibrawi Kufiya the original from Hebron Palestine. I ordered for birthday of my friend who is Palestinian and live in US. So I did compare this 2 scarfs and look like this one is better and look more impressive. Even if the other one was more expensive.

   Very nice and very versatile. Use it quite a bit in cold weather and hot. Would recommend it to anyone. Got one for my wife also and she really likes it.

   I bought two of these scarves, they are totally square, tightly woven with minimal defects in the weave; and they are every bit the 49″s they’re described as. There are so many different uses for a shemagh, and if your reading this you probably already know. These scarves are made in Syria, not china or India; and who do you think makes something better? A people who use them on a daily basis? Or the country that so many companies outsource to? Support legitimate small business in Syria, buy one of these Al basam shemaghs. You will not be disappointed.
